Teaser Tuesday-Running with Scissors

"Will you please just shut the hell up, Dierdre?" my father said, weary and drunk.

My mother smiled down at him, blowing smoke through her nostrils. "I will please shut the hell up the day you please drop the hell dead."

This is from Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs.

Teaser Tuesdays is a meme brought to us by MizB at Should Be Reading.
Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

That is hilarious! I will have to remember that next time I am pissed at someone and need a witty comment even if I don't say it out loud. I will have to check the book out to see if it is as funny as this teaser is.

Thanks for Sharing!

Haha, amazing teaser! :) I've only seen the movie, love the soundtrack, but have to spare some time for the book!

I read this book and I loved it! His follow-up books are just as funny. "Dry" is about his rehab for alcholism. "Magical Thinking" and "Possible Side Effects" are collections of funny essays. He kind of reminds me of David Sedaris. If you like this, check out his others! ; )
