If I could take work off tomorrow I would....

I'm a newbie to Mama Kat's Writing Assignment. If you haven't checked her out yet...do!

...get up with the kids and make them breakfast. My first thought was to sleep in, but when you have 5 youngins' at home that is nearly impossible. I hate not knowing what my kids eat for breakfast and if their clothes are appropriate for school. Since I drive the school bus, they are home in the morning to fend for themselves.

I would make my 'famous' Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and serve up some big glasses of milk. I wouldn't even complain when all 4 of the older ones are in the bathroom getting ready, sharing the 1 sink and rushing around. I would then happily drive them the block and a 1/2 to school...they hate to walk.

After getting everyone off to school, the baby and I would probably want to play at the playground so we would hang out there for awhile. Plus I'm like a celebrity at the school and would have to give out several hugs to kids who think my bus rocks!! Then we would come home and watch some Barney, Wiggles, Yo Gabba Gabba, Toy Story (1 or 2), Everyone's Hero, Dora, The Price is Right....the list could go on and on. Whatever he wants.

For lunch we would enjoy Mac-N-Cheese. It's a tradition from the sitters that carries over to home some Fridays. For nap time the baby and I would snuggle in Mom's bed and put in another movie and sleep the afternoon away.

After school is over [and yeah no afternoon bus run!] we would maybe be up from the nap and go for a walk to the school so we could walk home with Brother and Sissy.

Since I'm not doing anything work related, I wouldn't have Volleyball practice so I would help the hubby make something yummy for dinner, preferably something on the grill. Burgers, fries and chocolate shakes sound nummy good.

Then it would be off the the High School football game....it's here in town tomorrow. And since I'm not working I won't have to volunteer to take money at the gate either, and can enjoy the whole game with the my hubby. I'm sure I'll be beat by the end of the night but I sure would enjoy a day off....I am actually feeling rather ill....maybe I should call in sick tomorrow.

Sounds like fun..... don't you love that "break from reality"; even if for a few minutes!!!

thinking about it made you want to actually do it, huh?

but you wouldn't be able to get your rockstar hugs, 'cause then they'd see you're not really sick!

I definitely think that you should do that day. It sounds cozy and fun and relaxing. Just what a day off should be.

Wow! You're such a good community helper!! They should make a Higgly Town Hero out of you. :) That day off sounds like fun though...just enjoying the kids and taking it easy. We all deserve time like that!

what a great post. My Hubby had a bus-driver momma and can I just say, I was impressed by his independence and ability to look after himself (bachelor pad wasn't too bad). I think that cold looks like it's getting to you, you might have to call in ;-)
