Writer's Workshop......what?!!?

It's been a few weeks since I've participated in Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop so I thought I would this week. And I decided to write a little ditty about them all. They were just all so wonderful this week. :) Today is the 1/2 way point of Spring Break. :( I really am bumbed about having to go back to school on Monday, but that means we are just that much closer to Summer Vacation! And that means I will have 3/5 less kids!! :)

Even though I love you girls, It is somewhat less hectic with you gone.

We went and say Monsters vs Aliens last night. Simon loved it, Alex though it was ok, Joey and I didn't really care for it. It was ok as far as kids movies go but it wasn't a Shrek or anything. Simon (3) actually sat for most of it, there was just one point where he was a little board with the action, but did really good.

So here's my writings. Click on the picture of MamaKat at the blackboard for some other great writings.

The Prompts:

1.) Why did you do it? Because at the time it seemed like the best thing to do. Isn't that what they all say. I've never done anything wrong so I really don't know how to answer this.

2.) What is a common misconception about you? Truthfully, that I'm always happy go lucky. I can be a real crabby pants at home if things don't go my way.

3.) Describe a moment when you felt afraid. The time that instantly flashes into my head, and this is very traumatic for me, is the time my dad took me to our neighbor's house to help wrangle their snake that had gotten loose. I must have been around the age of 4, but I still remember it very clearly. There were 2 women/girls standing on the couches and ottomans screaming their heads off. In the bathroom off of the living room there was a huge (and by huge I'm sure it actually was 6-7 feel long and 3-4 inches thick. I don't know it could have been a gardener snake for all I know) frickin snake wrapped around the pipes under their sink. There were 3 or 4 guys trying to pry it off. Once they finally did I think the talk was to take it out back and chop it's head off with an ax. So who knows maybe it wasn't their pet. But we didn't live in the land of snakes so I don't know who else it could have gotten in their house. But I was freaked out. I truly feel that this still haunts me and why I am petrified of snakes. After this day it seems that I was always the one at school functions/field trips that got asked to pet the snakes. And I never wanted to. But the zoo keepers always made me. Just thinking about this gives me the hee-bee-gee-bees. uuuhhh

4.) In what ways are you turning into your mother? This one could almost co-inside with number 3....scary!...but really I find myself making gestures and facial expressions all the time like my mom does. You know the silly little things that make you crazy that your mom does, like her crazy laugh...I kind of do it know. (Sorry mom. ) But in a way I like it because it makes me think of her, and since I don't get to see her that often it's nice to have her in my thoughts.

5.) Are you always right? Of course I am. This is a silly question. Except for last night when I thought April 17, 2009 was going to be a Thursday. My husband very kindly and without embarrassment pointed out that April 17, 2009 is actually a Friday.
