Tuesday Teaser and It's Tuesday Where are You?

" "I understand." But he didn't. How could he understand? His light, bright brother was lying near death a thousand miles away. His brother."

My name is Dorrie. My mother just died of lung cancer that had spread to several other organs. When I was a teenager I got pregnant but my mother forced me to give up the baby. I don't know anything about it. I've tried before to get some information about the adoptive parents, but no one will give me any information. Right now I'm just trying to deal with my mother's death.

Tuesday Teaser and It's Tuesday Where are You?

I am in Castletownbere, Ireland trying to figure out how 2 young ladies and their crazy aunt died and/or were killed. There is this suspicious character Jim, who is also dead who I'm sure had something to do with their deaths. I discovered Fiona's diary in the discarded mail at the post office I work (did work at, I just got fired) at. I was so intreigued by her diary that I decided to go to Casletownbere and figure out the rest of the story.

Here is my teaser:

"I looked down and rummaged through my bag for at least a set of keys to use for brass knuckles, when I heard the dead speak for the first time. "And what exactly might you be doing here?" asked a woman's voice."

It's Tuesday Where are You? Tuesday Teaser

"When I say marriage sucks, I don't mean it sucks, so much as I don't really know if it sucks or doesn't. I've heard good and bad. My feelings about marriage are mixed, or should I say mixed-up."

I am in 2 places at once.

I just landed back home after an awkward plane flight where everyone on the plane was just like me. In their late-twenties, decent looking, and listening to an iPod...hoping the hot girl on the plane would look my way. My girlfriend and I just broke up and she how is living in my apartment, which leaves me to move out.

I also just got fired from my 6-figure Public Relations job. I busted my ass to make sure there were enough Tommyland books at a book signing where he was scheduled. The moron at B&N had the dates wrong, so I was left to charge 250 books on my business card. My boss didn't like my inititive. So he fired me.

I just started this book and love it. I'm sure the 2 characters are going to run into each other very soon and I can't wait to see how it goes. I found out about this book through paperbackswap.com, it was listed as a comical book. So far I've chuckled a couple of time. :)

"The crappy part was that she never seemed to accomplish anything substantial, yet she almost never had an hour to herself. The at home mother's life: it was a race with no finish line."

I am currently living in Seattle with my family. A 10 year old daughter, twin boys who are still under 2, and my publicist husband. I am trying to write a book while my best friend since grade school is a big TV star. My BFF Tully and I have been through a lot since we met when she moved into the house across the street with her drug addict mother all those years ago. All of our ups and downs are described in the wonderful book.

"On the fourth day of travel, Violet awoke feeling as if she'd been on the losing side of a saloon brawl. Sore from her neck to her feet, she sat up, and pushing aside the blanket someone had put over her, she rubbed her cramped left wrist."

This teaser does not do this book any good, but I really tried to stick to the rules and just let the book fall open. :)

I am traveling across the US with a wonderful group of men/boys in a band they created called the Pearltones. It is the middle 30's so it is a shock to many who come see the band play that two of the members are black folk. We are having a grand time, I have to admit I did lie a little about my role in the band, but it has all worked out wonderfully. Mix 2 blacks, an 18 year-old amputee white girl, 1 gorgeous white male, a groupie and some Clamshells (our loyal followers) and you've got a great adventure.

Susannah was grateful for her friends' sympathy. "No...it's just that I feel so awful about doing this to Mom, even though I know it was necessary." She paused. "I don't want to be the one making these decisions."

I am back in Colville, the small town I grew up in. I just drove 5 hours from Seattle her to look after my mother. Yesterday I just placed her in a nursing home. Even though she said my dead father has been visiting her he did tell it was ok to go to the home. I just visited my dad and brother's graves at the local cemetery. I have had a rough life, and now my high school boyfriend has been showing up in my dreams. I'm planning on tracking him down while I'm back in Colville, not for an affair, just to see how life has treated him.

"Okay," she breathes out. "He was there. Good job, baby. And did he hurt her? Did he have a knife?"

Eye Contact by Cammie McGovern

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Actually I'm not sure where I am, but a young girl has been murdered and the only other person who was there that was not involved in the murder was a little boy with autism. Personally I am learning more about this illness and the struggles that his mother is going through to get him to help find the killer. The author of this book (Cammie McGovern) has a child with autism so I feel her descriptions are as close to real as I'm going to get as a reader.
Sweet Life
"Kavena began to chant quietly. The scent of maile was intoxicating. And before she could think another thought, Marissa drifted off to sleep again."
My name is Marissa and I am on the Big Island (Hawaii). My husband was offered the General Manager of the resort he was working for in New York. After only 1 visit to Hawaii we decided to move our 8 year old daughter and ourselves to the luxurious island. Only thing is it hasn't been all that luxurious. Our house looks nothing like the pictures our realtor e-mailed us while we were still living in NY, and now my husband, Paul has decided he "needs some some alone." My daughter has just started horse riding lessons, and has talked me into renting out some of the rooms in our house (it used to be a Bed and Breakfast), so we'll see how it all pans out.
