just for your click, i get paid! --------------->

I haven't participated with Angie for a while and since I have some photos to share I thought I'd play along this week. If you don't know Angie click here to meet her.

I finally got Taylor's quilt finished today. It ended up being a little 'off' but overall I like. The pattern is called Candy Bar Road. And I got the idea from the talented Amanda Jean. She is an awesome quilter, and I hope I am just like her someday. :)

I also had time to bake a cake, which is pretty delicious, and is almost 1/2 gone now. Thanks, Kids!
Have a great evening. We're off to another basketball game.

Wordful Wednesday

Wordful Wednesday is for those of us that like to showcase a photo(s) but that just can't seem keep our mouths shut about it(them). If you'd like to play along, post a photo on your blog, and let the words roll. It's been awhile since I've participated, but is just so happens I have some pictures to share today and it is Wordful Wednesday!

I was looking through my stash of material for something white to add to Taylor's quilt and I came upon some bigger pieces. So I thought I'd through them together for Simon. And I've been dying to practice my stippling with my new Embroidery Foot. Which I received yesterday. I was/am so excited.
I ran out of white thread so I only got about half way around the outside edge. Stippling I think is harder than it looks. I'm glad I'm using Simon's new Car's blankie as my practice. I am definitely NOT a pro, but I love the crinkly way it looks. And, I don't remember who said it but they were right, use a thread color that matches your material. I was an absolute wreck sewing on the blue with the white thread. The backing of the quilt is a dark blue and looks horrible, but it is the back so I'm not too worried about it. This is some of my better stippling...But now I do see one part that I don't like too well.
P.S. Don't worry Staci, I'll eventually get to your's. (Unless you want to fight Simon Cooper for the Car's Blankie.)

Homemade Halloween

One of the things that I like most about my kids is that they don't always feel like they have to have new stuff and homemade Halloween costumes are okay. This year I made a tutu for Laney who is going to be a 'ballerina'. Not the cute, pink and frilly kind but the punk, funky kind. Her and a friend are dressing up in what they have from home and going out Friday night.

Alex and his buddy are going to be the Hardy Brothers. The wrestler guys. I know nothing about WWE but these two boys are siked about trick-or-treating. I helped them out by making a Hardy Brother necklace for the neighbor boy. They are going to another town that is a little bigger to trick-or-treat, and then going to a Halloween party there.
Can you tell which one is real and whick if the homemade one? I've got to say I think I did a pretty awesome job. Alex did buy a new Jeff Hardy t-shirt and suckered us out of a new pair of jeans...but it's all stuff he will wear again so his is pretty much homemade too.

Mariah is going as a Harajuku girl. And her costume was all purchased, which sometimes can be easier. I think this is what her costume looks like. Her friend that she's trick-or-treating with is going as the same thing but she is using things from home.

I've decided what I'm going to be, but I'm going to keep you in suspecense until Friday!

Elench ~ Wordful Wednesday

I just don't know what it is about this guy, but I love. him. I purchased him from his creator, SkeletalDropKick, and I just can't stop staring at him. {Click on his mamma's name and you can see her other stuff} Something about some of the stuff is just plain creepy to me but I love Elench. So much I'm just going to leave him sit on the counter. I may never use him...ah, sure I will...every morning. And I'm waiting to try my Witch's Brew, I bought at the grocery whipped up last night, because you know I have been called a 'Wicked Witch' by one of the s-daughters.

Anyways.

I've been busy selling signs on etsy and found this guy. There are really some cute Halloween things if you are looking for something unique. It's all homemade by little ol' ladies like me trying to make it big.

Maybe they aren't but I am. I'd love to just cut up license plates all day and nail them to wood.

So here's my Wordful Wednesday for today.

P.S. Ms. SkeletalDropKick, you can e-mail me with the information on commission for all the sales I've sent you. I know all my bloggie friends will just be buying your stuff like crazy. They're just cool like that!

Wordful Wednesday

One of the joys of being a school bus driver is getting to see all the cute critters the kids take to school. (I'm sure bringing these bugs on the bus is against some law or rule, but come on...they're kids.)

So today, one of my favorite little guys brought a caterpillar. I love seeing caterpillars in the fall, because I use them as a guide for the upcoming winter weather. I was surprised to hear that the 3rd grader that brought this caterpillar in knew the old wives tale.

By looking at this guy (his head is the thicker black colored spot, then a large orange section, and another tiny black section at the end) we should have a cold start to winter, but then the majority of the winter should be milder, with another tiny cold spell at the end. {Check your local caterpillar} This sounds good to me.

Mark my words. My mom always counts on the caterpillar to forecast her winter, and the pillar's normally right.

"Hi, Mom!"

Word-ful Wednesday

Everyone knows how much I love me little guy. I had a wonderful video of him enjoying his Ramen noodles. And I mean ENJOYing. Every bit was followed with a mmmmm mmmmm. He said I made the best noodles he's ever had. I'm going to have to still try and get the video uploaded.

This is another great memory that I don't want to forget.
